Good bye [11 Nov 2009|08:27pm]

lea_ysaye
I am sad to make this decision, but I have to face up to the changed circumstances: I will be closing down the site very shortly. These days I am far busier with life and work than when I started the website almost five years ago, and I just can't keep up with it anymore. Working on the RingCon pictures has brought it home to me, I just don't have the time or energy. The domain runs out on 29 December, and that's when the site will go offline.

There are so many people I need to thank for providing me with pictures, updates and tidbits from all over the place. Thank you, guys, without you Parker Blue wouldn't have been possible. xx

It's Craig's birthday tomorrow, or rather, today in New Zealand. So, with this post I wish him Happy Birthday and all the luck in the world for his life and his flourishing career. I will continue to follow his work, of course, and will keep my eye on Claudia's wonderful German site and Craig-Parker.net.

It was an honour, guys. Don't forget: He's not dead! ;)

Convention things [27 Sep 2009|04:50pm]

lea_ysaye
More DragonCon goodies have emerged. There's a six-part video from the Evening at Bree party, starting here with Part 1. Many thanks for Jamila for the heads-up. Then there's loads and loads and loads of images in a flickr album here.

Craig's agency has new photos of him online, two of them in hi-res. You can see them here. Many thanks to Claudia for that.

And last but not least, the RingCon programme for next weekend is online now. PDF is here. Craig's panels are Friday, 8.45pm, with Mark Ferguson, Lori Dungey and Jarl Benzon and Sunday, 3.30pm, with Mark. According to Claudia at cp.de, Craig will also assist Mark in his acting workshop, and during her panel(s) Lori will screen her latest spoof-film "Mrs Bracegirdle's Adventures in Therapy", in which Craig has a part as well. Watch the trailer for that here. Heh. :)

Mostly Dragon*Con [15 Sep 2009|09:51pm]

lea_ysaye
I am not sure anymore if we have seen this: A tiny snippet of Craig in Return of the Jackalope. The film was never released, but since all they had of Craig for it was comments from that convention, I think we'll survive. ;)

There are a few things from Dragon*Con earlier this month: A little video someone made of Craig. He apparently says hi to a friend of the person who did the video. And a very short audio clip from a panel. And last but not least, a report on TORn, with Craig getting a mention.

Another convention etc [02 Sep 2009|09:02pm]

lea_ysaye
Craig will attend Armageddon Expo in Auckland from 24 - 26 October. Visit the official site for more info.

He also attended the premiere of the eco-horror film "Age of Stupid" recently. Read a blog entry here.

Then there is a clip for the Jenarium mythology here. I'm still a bit hazy on the concept, but the album that accompanies it and for which Craig has narrated the text will be pre-released in December.

Convention, Spartacus and Diplomatic Immunity [15 Aug 2009|05:08pm]

lea_ysaye
Craig has been announced for Dragon*Con, which takes place in Atlanta, Georgia 4-7 September. Visit the official website for details.

There's an official site for Spartacus: Blood and Sand here. Go to "Screening Room", there's a few making of clips where Craig and his colleagues talk about the show.

Diplomatic Immunity series 1 is out on DVD now. You can buy it from the Mighty Ape online store, or you can try your luck and enter TVNZ's sweepstakes here.

This and that [25 Jul 2009|04:18pm]

lea_ysaye
No updates in a while, my apologies. There are still some Legend of the Seeker screencaps to come, but I haven't gotten round to them yet.

I do have a few other goodies, though: The first full trailer for Spartacus: Blood and Sand was screened at San Diego Comi Con. You can watch the trailer here. The show will air in the US from January 2010, and Craig is playing Glaber, a Roman Legate.

Craig and Renato Bartolomei spent a weekend with sick kids for the Cure Kids Ticket To Hope weekend in June. There are two articles about it here and here.

There was also a mention of Craig in an article on Michael Jackson's death a few weeks ago: The science of dead celebrities. I must say, when that headline popped up in my inbox under the keyword Craig Parker I had a mini heart attack. But don't worry, Craig is well. He is merely used as an example of a lesser-known celebrity with a devoted fanbase.

You might want to go to this site and search for Craig Parker, there are a few very nice pictures to be found. Look for the ones from 14 April...

And then there's also a new website of interest: Claduia from the German Craig fansite has created a site for Mark Ferguson, www.mark-ferguson.info.

Looks like Craig will attend RingCon this year! Check out the official website, he's been added to the guest list as confirmed! :)

Overdue update [29 May 2009|10:49pm]

lea_ysaye
Apologies for not updating in a while, but nothing too spectacular has been going on anyway.

Here's what looks like an official site for Diplomatic Immunity. They mention that if a DVD is being released it'll be announced there, so keep checking back!

Craig was at the opening night for the first NZ poker tournament in Auckland on 27 May, an article with a small picture can be found here.

And last but not least, Claudia at the German Craig site posted a picture a while ago that made me giggle: TheatreSports 1999. Heh. ;)

Goodies! :) [17 Apr 2009|10:21pm]

lea_ysaye
My copy of New Idea finally arrived, so I present you the interview with Craig and his colleague Lesley-Ann, who plays Leilani on Diplomatic Immunity: Lesley-Ann's my princess. There was a very nice picture, too.

My lovely NZ contact also sent an article from the Sunday Star Times, on Legend of the Seeker: The legends live on.

And, the very talented Mresundance allowed me to upload this: Iko Iko, his fabulous music video (rightclick save, please!). I also promised to pimp his new Livejournal Community, No immunity. Go forth and join, it's excellent! :)

Diplomatic Immunity [15 Mar 2009|09:07pm]

lea_ysaye
I screencapped the first episode of Diplomatic Immunity, you can find the caps here.

There are two reviews for the show on the Diplomatic Immunity page here and here. The reviews are so-so, and the comments at the end of the second review are mixed. Some people really liked it, some didn't at all. Craig's performance was mentioned favourably, though: Leightong Mills is described as "played with bureaucratic brilliance, like a tightly furled black brolly, by Craig Parker". Heh. :)

Sarah also sent in a second picture from the launch, which you can see here. And Throng, New Zealand's excellent TV website and community, has a page dedicated to the show here. Check it out for news and press releases (one for the second episode, amongst other things)!

Legend of the Seeker [14 Mar 2009|08:11pm]

The page for Legend of the Seeker is now ready and can be found on the left, in the Specials links section. I added the screencaps for episode 1x09: Puppeteer at the very bottom. More screencaps to come as soon as possible!

Craig on Breakfast TV [10 Mar 2009|08:57pm]

lea_ysaye
The wonderful Kathy sent me a link to Craig's appearance on Breakfast (on TV One). He talks about Diplomatic Immunity and is generally just adorable. You can find it on YouTube here. Many, many thanks for that! :)

Diplomatic Immunity page and LotS promo pics [09 Mar 2009|08:12pm]

lea_ysaye
Diplomatic Immunity is starting on TV One in New Zealand tomorrow (10 March). Just in time I created and updated the special page for the series here. There's images there, some interesting articles and there will be more over time. Enjoy! (The last image on the site is from the series launch on 24 February. Many thanks to Sarah for the find!)

There's some promo images for the next episode of Legend of the Seeker here.

In the next update: Legend of the Seeker screencaps, promise!

This and that [06 Feb 2009|07:38pm]

lea_ysaye
I emailed the ATC to enquire why Craig pulled out of God of Carnage. The email I got back didn't go into any detail, but it says this: Regrettably Craig Parker has decided to withdraw from GOD OF CARNAGE, so that he can pursue film work. No info yet on this, but I'll keep you updated on anything I hear about this "film work".

I found this site: NZ on Screen and they have a page on Gloss, the 80s series Craig appeared in. Go via that link and you can watch the very first episode of the series. Sadly, Craig is not in it, but it's still interesting to see, even if just for the bad hair. ;)

Allegedly, Diplomatic Immunity is supposed to start in NZ this month. I can't find any air dates yet, but you'll be the first to know when I do!

And, for all French speaking fans of Legend of the Seeker, here is a French fan site for the show.

No God of Carnage! [29 Jan 2009|08:25am]

lea_ysaye
Bad news! :( Craig won't be appearing in God of Carnage, after all. I just got an email from the Maidment Theatre alerting me to that fact. ATC have already changed their website. I hope nobody had booked any flights yet specifically for this...

PSA [21 Jan 2009|07:10pm]

lea_ysaye
Because it has come up today, and because there are quite a few new faces in the fandom, now that Craig is doing new shows and films I thought it time for a little PSA:

This website is unofficial and fan-run, meaning that neither does Craig read it or knows (much) about it, to my knowledge. I am not related to Craig and I don't know him personally, nor do I know anyone who does. What I post on this site is information that is either freely available online or gets sent to me by people who acquire information and pictures. I am indebted to all those wonderful individuals, without whom this website could not exist. I do credit everybody who makes a contribution, unless they ask me not to. Everything I do not credit for I have found/purchased myself.

Doing a website is a lot of work, but I love it still, after all these years. I have the slight advantage that I work in marketing and have had a lot of experience with PR over the year, so I know how to search effectively and how to make good contacts. But mostly, it's my fondness for the man that keeps me going. And of course all of you, because it's just no fun if there's nobody to share with. :)

I don't require you to credit me or the website for every single picture you take from here. It is of course much appreciated if you give a quick mention to the site. Feel free to use images for icons etc, unless expressly stated not to. However, don't nick fan reports or pictures from events, as these are posted with their owner's permission only on for site.

As for the Live Journal community that goes with this website, it serves the double purpose of archiving posts and having a kind of "feed" for people's friends pages. It is not meant to replace or outperform any communities, and only I can post to it (as it's just duplicating what I post to the website here).

If you have any questions, please just ask. :)
